MA Architecture and Urbanism Thesis.
Empalot. Toulouse. France
Whilst walking around my chosen site for my thesis it was pointed out to me by a "social housing Veteran", that it is not where you live, it's how you live. Pessimistic, yes. But is it a fair statement?
Empalot is a small district of 1960's housing in South West Central Toulouse. It is 89% social housing, with an unemployment rate of 36%. The council has a proposed a master plan for the area to create a more desirable place to live, my thesis is to propose an alternative to this.
Step One: Research. Record. Review.
